My first image from the conference... Appropriately enough, it's an ant moving plant matter. Ants will be the focus of tomorrow night's keynote address. Click to magnify.
Easy flight into Tucson and enjoyable ride to Rio Rico with several other conference folk. A quick grocery store run, registration, a walk along one of the nature trails (5 new species for me that all photographed well during the walk), fiesta dinner outdoors, processing of some images and getting ready for the conference to really start tomorrow.
Out in the field tomorrow from 6 AM to 5 PM. Evening keynote presentation by Mark Moffett , author of Adventures Among the Ants, tomorrow evening, followed by more food. Moffett was on CBS Sunday morning three days ago, his video can be found here. I enjoyed chatting with him tonight regarding macrophotography equipment. Looking forward to more of that over the next several days.
I LOVE this conference!
I saw him on CBS Sunday Morning as well! Leaf Cutter Ants – fascinating. I will never step on another ant
Ants are always moving things around that are bigger than themselves, whereas when we try this we slip discs and ruin our knees. What do they know that we don’t?
Great pictures again Mr. Stone, keep having fun
