The bees shown above are minute, as is the flower they are pollinating.
The pair looked like a large moving pepper grain on a tiny flower.
Because the picture was taken at mid-day, there was sufficient light to give a nicer depth of field than I would normally obtain using the macro lens under natural lighting conditions. I wasn’t aware that this was a pair of bees until I began processing the images later that evening.

These are actually bees in the genus Perdita, family Andrenidae. Great image, though!
