The curlyhair tarantula (Brachypelma albpilosum) spiderling stopped eating several weeks ago and began showing the characteristic shiny-dull abdominal appearance that occurs as the new abdominal exoskeleton separates from the previous exoskeleton prior to eclosion (molting).
Immediately after eclosion the spiderling was white with a black abdomen. Several days later, it is now a blue color, which will darken to a gray-black over the next several days.
