I didn’t realize I was enjoying breakfast with anyone else until I looked a little more closely. Click/double-click to enlarge.
This morning I read Chris Buddle’s blog entry entitled “You are always within three feet of a spider: Fact or Fiction?” while trying to simultaneously wolf down my oatmeal and watch the CBS morning news to determine what kind of weather conditions we would encounter as we drove onto the U of I campus.
As I reached to turn off our under cabinet TV, I noticed a tiny black object under the kitchen cabinet. It moved as my hand approached the on/off button at the top of the TV.
The timing could have been no better. The jumping spider (Phidippus sp.) was less than two feet away from me.
What a great way to begin the holiday season!
That’s a pretty cool rule Mr. Stone… Provided the spider that is within a 3 foot radius is always as adorable as the depicted jumping one
I’m with you (as usual!) on that, John. Merry Christmas!
