On May 15, 2010, I attended an aquatic insect workshop offered by Dr. Ed Dewalt of the Illinois Natural History Survey. The presentation was excellent, as was the hands-on aspect of the workshop. Lots of stonefly nymphs, which bodes well for my favorite body of water. Several pieces of wood, heavily populated by a variety of nymphs, were pulled from the stream. I need to try out more aquatic insect photography this summer.
