Your blog is amazing, Dave. I especially like the clear and colorful pictures. In fact I prefer pictures to the real thing in the case of most insects.

Hiya, Mr. Stone! It’s me, Vicky. I’ll be keeping tabs on this blog of yours from now on. The blogs you link to are also excellent ^^
Dear Mr. Stone,
We were reading a bee book called Bee by Karen Hartley. It had pictures of real bee larvae and pupae in the bee hive. We were wondering how they got the photographs from inside the hive. Do you know?

Hi Class,
Thanks so much for send your note! I’ll be glad to help answer your question. I’m not familiar with the book you are reading, but if Mrs. Maxson could scan one of the pictures and mail it to me I should be able to answer your question.
I’m thrilled to see that you are using the Internet to contact others who can answer your questions. I look forward to seeing the pictures!

Hi David:
I met you today at the BugShot 2011 and asked for your blog address. Wow! I REALLy like your photographs and will be a regular follower of your work from now on, I promise! Again, congratulations on a wonderful blog!

Hello Dave, This is Vandana, we met on Nov 10th at KodaRoamers meeting. First thanks for the wonderful presentation on the macro photography.
I just went so far 1/4th of your bolg, and loved it. I also came to know few of the bugs name which come in my garden in spring and summer time. may be I’ll find those caterpillers also which come in my garden soon thru your blog 🙂
The quality of the photos are GREAT. Wonderful details (even though bugs make me feel creepy), interesting behaviour patterns. I loved how some of the bugs are so well camouflaged with the background. Saw some intersting looking bugs too, which is hard for me to say they are bugs 🙂
In short, I’m sure once I finish looking at your blog and photos over this weekend, will inspire me to take my macro lens out of the bag and try something. There are still few bugs hanging around my garden.
Hopefully you’ll get time to read my this mumbo-jumbo. Good to know you, and sure we’ll be in touch. Afterall photography and this world, both are much more fascinationg 🙂
Thanks, Vandana

Thanks so much, and likewise! I particularly like your stacks and aquatics. Excellent work! I’m looking forward to sitting down and focusing on a number of blogs, including yours, this winter. There’s so much to learn…
Thank you! LOL! I know what you mean…creating my blog has opened up a whole new world…my to-do and to-read lists are getting longer every day!
Would you mind dropping me an email at: macrocritters.yahoo.com?
Cheers,
Ernie
Hi Dave, about once a week I reblog a post from another site on my blog to introduce other writers and photographers to my readers. I also add a link to the blog under the heading “Other great nature blogs”. All of your material is tremendous…if you have no objection, I would like to reblog one of your posts soon…
Cheers,
Ernie

Sure, Ernie. That would be great. Keep on photographing and blogging. I really enjoy your work!
Dave
Thanks!
Hi Dave,
As an avid amateur nature macro photographer, I am interested to know what software you use to post process your excellent photographs. ? Aperture, Photoshop, LR etc. and the reason you prefer your choice. I am aware of your macro camera/flash setup for photos from prior blogs. My Naturalist friend and mentor, Bill Haley of the Chattanooga Tennessee Aquarium, who is the Naturalist and Outreach Coordinator there , said he has met you at a seminar and to say hello.
Many thanks ,
Mike O’Brien
Hi Mike,
I’m truly a lightweight when it comes to image processing. My processing is largely restricted to iPhoto and final image sizing using PhotoShop Elements.
Glad to hear you know Bill! Meeting him last year and spending a day with him and several of the other conference participants was one of the highlights of the 2011 Invertebrates in Education and Conservation Conference!
Hi Dave I would like to be able to obtain a higher resolution version of an image on your blog to use in print, whats the best way to contact you directly.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers Robyn
